(Originally aired 9.10.2024)

Guardianship and Conservatorship

The Pros, the Cons and Your Questions Answered

Presented by:

Judge Ginny Duhon, Associate Judge

Fayette County Probate Court

In the past ExOPS has provided Guardianship and Special Needs Trusts information in one meeting. Since then, we have received numerous requests to present information in greater detail and limited only to the subject of Guardianship. Judge Duhon will provide an overview of the different types of guardianship, what’s involved in applying for guardianship and will answer specific questions you may have about this very complicated subject. This parent-friendly, easy-to-understand session will explain the pros and cons of guardianship as well as discuss when is the right time to consider applying for guardianship.

This meeting will be important for parents of children with disabilities of all ages. This is also an important meeting for grandparents raising grandchildren with disabilities.
