Medicaid Waivers 101
Georgia's NOW and Comp Waivers
For Citizens with Developmental Disabilities
Presenter: Valona Baldwin, Region 6 Services Administrator
Are you confused about what a Medicaid waiver is? Do you wonder when you should apply for one? If you have a loved one with a developmental disability, or if you provide service to someone with a developmental disability this is a meeting you will not want to miss. Valona Baldwin will provide basic information about what these waivers are, who can apply for them, the timing for application and what some of the eligibility requirements are. This meeting will provide information about the waivers which are designed to offer home and community-based services for people with a developmental or intellectual disability.
This forum will provide an overview of the two federal Medicaid waivers and plans. NOW: New Options Waiver for persons who live with family members or in their own home, and COMP: Comprehensive Supports Waiver Program for persons who need a full range of out-of-home services or intensive, in-home services who do not otherwise qualify for the NOW program. This information is appropriate for all age groups.
This meeting will be important for parents of children with disabilities of all ages. Our meeting will NOT be held at our office location. This will be a meeting held via Zoom. If you are interested in attending, please follow the below instructions:
